Misanthrope

My husband and I went to the showing of Moliere's Comic Masterpiece titled "Misanthrope" at the Dallas Theatre Center over the weekend. We are members. We found out we loved seeing plays about two years ago when my husband surprised me on our anniversary weekend and saw "Romeo and Juliet" and the performance of "Hats". This play was about one man's stand against hypocrisy-while all the time remaining blind to his own. Alceste hates the glitter and glamour of his social class, but loves the woman who most embodies it. It was a darkly funny exploration of conflicting obsessions. It is said to be one of the greatest plays every written. It truly was my favorite so far this season. The acting was so superb! and there was an enormous amount of script to memorize. I'd see it again! check it out: www.dallastheatercenter.org

Better Than Life

a quiet place to rest
to still my thoughts
and listen to yours
To find peace and life
and to live there

To let go of those things
that pull me away from you
The mind set of things of this world
do not bring life, but distract me
of the life You have called me to

take up the cross, laying down the burdens
help someone up, lifting one out of the dark
to speak words of truth, & to be set free
yet while still sinners, You died for me.

Your Love is better than life
better than anything I can taste, hear, or see.
Better than any person, place , or thing
Nothing is perfect
only your love for me
that is pure
that is pure perfection
and that is BETTER THAN LIFE

a grandmother & mother-in-law

My daughter got married today! They did it. They are a family now. Wow! That makes me a grandma & a mother-in-law. Here I sit with my grandson in my arms. They are out for 2 days to celebrate. It was a very intimate ceremony. God is so good in allowing our pastor time in his schedule to be the one to unite them as husband and wife..and on short notice. In my heart, I feel that was no accident and all apart of God's unfolding plan for their lives... And life goes on... it is good..faith is the evidence of things hoped for....i pray their faith grows more as they seek God as "one flesh" now.

Puppies, Babies, & New Beginnings & Endings

Life has been really busy the last few weeks. We did get the puppy at the airport. She is adorable! She learned to use the doggy door in one day!
Daeus, my grandson is growing rapidly and has discovered his hands. He smiles all the time and has his grandfather & mother's dimples.
Another thing on my mind is, I was listening to a radio program and heard alot about EFA's. What are EFA's you ask? It is essential fatty acids. You can read all about it at www.nordicnaturals.com. I went out and bought me some of the "Omega Women" today. It is specifically for the premenopausal woman. I started on Jenny Craig on Monday. I have been successful before and I will do it again. It works for me. Please pray for me that the Lord will be my sustainer through any temptation or anything that might try to sabitoge my desire for better health and a trim body. Forty pounds here we go! My daughter is on the "Medifast" plan & is using the food I bought about 2 months ago. She wants to get rid of the baby weight she gained.
My monday night trinitarianism course and the tuesday night leadership class (with my pastor) ended last week. Both have rooted my faith more deeply.
I gotta get to bed...big day at the spa and then tomorrow night's women's conference. It is going to be so good for my heart & others to be there in fellowship with all those women to just give glory to God!

Taste of Galilee

My husband & I went out to dinner after church saturday night and found a great place for middle eastern food. The place is called "Taste of Galilee" It had all my favorites. You can order from the menu, but the buffet is outstanding! The owner was a very nice & friendly gentlemen. He came to our table several times to see how we liked our food and he gave us the history of his restaurant & his own family who live west of the Sea of Galilee. If you want more information, just shoot me an e-mail. By the way, I took this photo of the Sea of Galilee.

Our newest arrival!

My daughter has been on a search for another Japanese Chin and she found one. She is a female named Mollie! She is coming to us all the way from South Dakota! We are all excited. We'll be picking her up from the airport next week. Isn't she cute? She is just 4 days older than my grandson!

Special Forces

Today my friends son-in-law left for war. We went for a walk around the lake at the park and she shared who he was from the inside. She talked about how much they have grown to love him and about moments and memories shared of laughter, hurt, & tears of both joy and pain. He has a little one at home who is 3 yrs old who Grandma just adores.
"Flat Stanley" is going on the mission too and they will be gone for about 8 months.
I pray for their safe return, strength, mental health, endurance, & physical bodies. I pray the Lord's protection and peace that He alone can provide for them and their families. Our hearts ache for them. It wasn't suppose to be this way. The Lord is in control and His timing and His ways are just. Do not fear, God is near, God is here.
I pray for all soldiers everywhere most of all that they come to know the Lord who saves them and is preparing a place in heaven for them with the most magnificient rewards.

We are missionaries with The Brook Ministries in Costa Rica. We are here to help strengthen the church body of Jesus Christ & to fulfill His Great commission to the lost. At our conferences, my husband directs the recreational activities & excursions. I provide physical renewal with massage for the female attendees. We believe that regularly scheduled renewal of the body, mind, & spirit for ministry leaders in particular, will empower them to serve the Lord with renewed strength & perseverance to do what God has uniquely called them to do....SERVE & BUILD HIS CHURCH to the outermost parts of the world!
