Intercessory Prayer

We don't know what we are suppose to pray and the holy spirit does that through us. He speaks to our spirit and gives us the words to pray. When this kind of prayer comes upon us, it is an inner awareness that comes alive. The word of God is alive. It's an urgency. He makes it happen.
Intercessory prayer is not the same as prayers for myself. Intercession is not just praying for someone else's needs. Intercession is praying with the real hope and real intent that God would step in and act for the positive advancement of some specific other person(s). It is trusting God to act, even if it's not in the manner or timing we seek. God wants us to ask, even urgently. It is casting our weakness before God's strength, and (at its best) having a bit of God's passion burn in us.
Before I begin a massage, I usually say a prayer for the person and on rare occasions I have been led to tell them about it. This past 2 weeks have been different. On three separate occasions I had this urgency to not only let them know that I have prayed for them, but that I tell them what the Lord led me to pray for them. What a humbling thing. I was like "Are you sure God?" He said "Speak"
All three immediately related to me some personal thing going on in their lives with either them personally or their families. I noticed in those prayers I prayed for them that a "word" or "phrase" would be bold and lit up in my mind that I couldn't get away from.
One was "Bless the work of your hands" This woman had been diligently e-mailing her sister who's child had just died. Her hands on the keyboard was encourgement to her sister and the Lord wanted her to know to continue doing it and that is was good.
Another was "Blessings upon Blessings to you" This young 20 yr. old had just bought her first house the day before. I felt like the Lord prompted me in telling her she needed to hear/ know that the Lord was the one blessing her.
Then yesterday it was the word "Protection" I felt in my spirit that this woman was worried and in fear of something or for someone else. She said her step son had been in Iraq for 3 months and that she was very worried about him. She thanked me for the prayer and I told her I would continue to pray for Seth.
To end this, when God says He wants to use you for something, don't miss it. Don't miss the chance...to be a witness... he'll find someone else for sure. I can't think of anything that feels better than this! As a believer in Jesus Christ....this is what it is ALL ABOUT...
STEP UP TO THE PLATE & SEE WHAT HE CAN DO!

We are missionaries with The Brook Ministries in Costa Rica. We are here to help strengthen the church body of Jesus Christ & to fulfill His Great commission to the lost. At our conferences, my husband directs the recreational activities & excursions. I provide physical renewal with massage for the female attendees. We believe that regularly scheduled renewal of the body, mind, & spirit for ministry leaders in particular, will empower them to serve the Lord with renewed strength & perseverance to do what God has uniquely called them to do....SERVE & BUILD HIS CHURCH to the outermost parts of the world!
